Twitpic officially closed - For Twitter users, you probably are familiar with Twitpic, a platform that helps users to upload photos to Twitter. Beginning in September, the service was rumored to be closed on September 25, due to a trademark dispute with Twitter.

The news was soon broken by the announcement of the mid Twitpic same month, stating that the company had been acquired by an unnamed party, which allows the service to continue to operate.

However, this does not last long, Twitpic again announced that the service would be shut down because of disagreement with the Twitter. Two days ago (25/10), Twitpic finally officially closed.

Although closed, Twitpic via his official blog announced that the domain name as well archival photo once uploaded by users have been purchased by Twitter, so that users can still access the photos.

However, users can no longer upload photos via this service. Twitpic apps for iOS and Android had already withdrawn from the respective app stores.
